One Wild Night- EPISODE 1 in the first season of the Forever Wild Serial. (This is a six part series with one book releasing every 3 weeks)
One Wild Night Can Change Everything
Valerie Wilder doesn’t do serious relationships. She also doesn’t usually wake up in Vegas next to a male stripper…
A male stripper who happens to be her new husband.
A quickie divorce seems like the answer, but the Nevada legal system doesn’t think so. When her new husband suggests flying back to Chicago with Valerie she accepts, wondering if one night in Vegas could turn into something much more.
I received this book via Netgalley for an honest review.
This is the first installment of the Forever Wild serial. It counts six parts and they are all available.
This is a quick, very light and even funny read, but not necessarily laughing out loud kind of funny. There’s a good chick-lit vibe mixed with a contemporary romance atmosphere with a good potential.
I had a good time with Valerie and her stripper husband Wes. Their story isn’t unheard of (a trip to Las Vegas that ends in a drunken wedding), but it’s still nice to read and I think the author has a lot for us in store.
Wes is still rather mysterious right now and while I’m far from melting (contrary to Valerie apparently), I still want to know more about him. After all, he’s a good looking man, tattooed and pierced! 😉
More seriously, Wes has the potential for more, to be a great male interest but he needs to prove himself. I hope I’m not going to be disappointed.
Valerie is a modern young woman with a nice and fresh voice. She’s rather independent and knows what she wants and doesn’t shy from it. That’s always a good thing in books and here it serves the story and helps create a good dynamic.
The relationship between Valerie and Wes is still very superficial and I can’t really say that I’m won over, yet I really look forward to the next installment. I want to know more about Wes and Valerie because right now we don’t know much.
Magna Vernon’s writing is flowing with ease and works well with Valerie’s voice. There’s a good balance between the dialogues and descriptive parts which makes this book more agreeable to read.
One Wild Night is a nice first installment and is fun and light to read. I recommend this one if you’re looking for another serial. Now, I just hope the potential I see here becomes reality!
What do you think of Wes?
